Warm label adhesives
Hot glues are generally rubber-based, which have a very fast and intense initial tack. When pressure is applied to these types of adhesives and the label is placed in contact with the surface, the adhesive is quickly processed and sticks to the desired surface. This glue is softer compared to acrylic glues and therefore it can be glued on rougher surfaces like recycled cardboard and it is sure to have good adhesion on unpolished surfaces. Since these adhesives were made on the basis of rubber, they have little resistance to high temperature and ultraviolet rays and should not be exposed to the sun for a long time.
Acrylic label adhesives
Acrylic adhesives are chemically different from hot glues and show good resistance to ultraviolet rays and heat. When pressure is applied to acrylic adhesives and placed in contact with the desired surface, they have a weaker initial adhesion than hot glue, but within 24 hours after application, the adhesion property reaches its maximum. Because this glue is not as soft as hot glue, it does not perform well on rougher surfaces such as recycled cardboard. Acrylic adhesives are easier to use due to their stiffer structure and composition because this adhesive has less tendency to come off the surface of the label edges.
