Qaisi is dried apricot fruit. The apricot tree belongs to the Rosaceae family, which is mostly cultivated in temperate regions, especially in the Mediterranean climate. Apricot tree is a small tree that is cultivated sparsely. This tree has wide, small and pointed green leaves. Apricot tree belongs to the same family of trees as almond and cherry. This tree has pink flowers that grow in pairs or singles on the stems of the apricot tree. Apricot fruits are green before ripening and are elongated and look like almonds, but after ripening, they turn yellow or orange. Its fruit is juicy and sweet.

Apricots in Iran are mostly planted in the Azerbaijan region. Apricots that are in the form of cars usually have full kernels, but apricots that are eugenic or transplanted often have small kernels. Most of the apricots that are planted in Iran are of the Asgarabad, Urdobad and Shinabad varieties. The main cities where this fruit grows are Urmia, Azarshahr, Marand and Sko.
